There is no reported time in taking OCPs, but we suggest that you take your pill before meals and the Xenical after meals so Xenical may not affect absorption of the pill. Thank you.

I have been reading several articles about Xenical. I work as a trainer in a callcenter and I have gained 10kgs in 3 yrs. I would like to start taking xenical. I only take 1 full meal in a day. If i take xenical, how many hours can I expect bowel effects so I can gauge if I needed to adjust my lunch breaks. I can’t afford to go to the Jane from time to time due to my job. Thank you.

Usually, food gets digested 3-4 hours after meal. Bowel urgencies will depend on your fat intake. The more fats you eat, the more frequent and oily it is. Frequency will also differ from one person to another. There is no exact number of hours to expect bowel effects. It is advised that you minimize on your fat intake so as to minimize oil spotting. Thanks for asking. Yes it is true that Xenical eliminates 30% of the fat from the food we eat. As a result, the undigested fat is eliminated in the bowel as oil thus preventing it from forming fatty deposits around the waist, hips and thighs. Regarding your question as to what Xenical does to the “previously stored fats”, once the body starts to “need” fats for energy consumption, metabolism, and other bodily functions, and does not detect any fats from the food eaten (since it has already been blocked and eliminated by Xenical), the body of Xenical users will start to consume the current stored fat in their bodies as source for energy. This causes further weight reduction. In other words, the “unused” and “stored” fats in the body will be the ones “burned” for energy consumption. You will still lose weight, in a natural way. Xenical does not burn your fats, your body does. Thank you.
