Video: Learn How To Do The Shimmy In Belly Dancing
The Shimmy is a vital part of a full belly dancing routine.
A beginner of belly dancing will naturally want to learn how to do a shimmy. A more advanced belly dancer would aim at being better with doing the shimmy.
Shimmies can be done with different parts of the body starting from the shoulders, the chest, the hips and even the glutes.
A shimmy is characterized by the rapid controlled shaking of a specific part of the body while the rest of the body remains still. Shimmies in belly dancing can also be loose and general shaking, reverberating through the entire body.
Watch the video below from Club New You’s fitness dance expert Teacher Lala of Movement Dance Studio demonstrate a simple chest shimmy.
